Shamas jumps from barn to boutique Right up on the front counter at the Fashionably Yours consignment shop at 632 Queen St. W. sits a drool inducing patent leather Chanel bag. It is spoken for, which is just as well, given that it is priced at $1,800 a bargain for a limited edition Chanel. Monologist Sandra Shamas is not immune to the bag s charms, but is very happy with her own vintage fur muff, purchased at Courage My Love in Kensington Market. Starring, written and produced by Shamas, it is the latest of her tart, introspective observations, starting with My Boyfriend s Back and There s Gonna Be Laundry in cheap ladies ugg boots the mid 80s. The first Wit s End was motivated by her move to the country 16 years ago, to 123 acres of farmland she shares with her 10 brown chickens, all called Henny or Penny, who rule the roost over her two male cats. Wit s End III will be last of the series, dealing with farm life, menopause and love, love life, and love of life. "It is part of the journey, the intersection of age and experience," Shamas says, combing the racks for the definitive white shirt and black pants to wear on stage. An Alexander McQueen printed knit dress is on trend and only $400, but it s not her. Shamas is distracted by the shoes and boots. The Pierre Hardy fur booties (a fave of Jeanne Beker) are tasty but too vertiginous, going for $850 while retailing for $2,000. She pauses at a pair of $320 Chanel pumps; admires the impudence of the over the knee Stuart Weitzman boots seen on Kim Kardashian and stickered at $300 while retailing at $795; but is brought to her knees by a pair of studded Michael Kors clogs for $30 and the short, black cowboy boots from Cole Haan originally priced at $950 and a steal at $120. Fashionably Yours owner Janet Han is a former stylist who has worked with boldface like Beyonc and Rihanna, and pulls stock from her stylist pals. "Some of the stuff is new, some is wholesale, some are consignments from local designers. The accessories are new. I am a former accessories buyer." The price points start at $10 and can go into the thousands. "We had an Herms Birkin that went for $8,000," she says. "All bags are authenticated." Shamas hasn t shopped for awhile. "I live below my means," she explains. "I grow my own food. I have my big organic garden and I raise prize garlic. "I was totally a big ugg outlet prices city girl, but women are adaptable. I m happy to report I love country life; I am rising to the challenge. I know a lot of stuff farming; a little bit of carpentry; a little bit of electrical; baking bread, making lemon curd and preserving food. It s delicious trial and ugg australian error." Shamas is taken aback when asked what her style is. "Not to be naked is usually how I dress," she cracks. "My wardrobe ranges from barn clothes to town clothes, city clothes and formal. It goes from Kodiak boots to Louboutins. I guess you can say I am practical eclectic. "
